It’s Been a Busy Summer at Pinion
Everything that shipped in the last 90 days: LP-style quarterly reports, investor update analysis with a memory, QSBS tracking, two free calculators, and more.
Most important: thank you for trying out Pinion. We’ve had a strong response to the product and have added a lot of features and capabilities based on user feedback. Here’s what shipped in the last 90 days.
Quarterly reports — your portfolio’s LP letter
Generate an LP-style quarterly report of your own portfolio: executive summary, quarter performance, AI-drafted company highlights based on your investor updates, and full holdings tables. Edit the narrative, print to PDF, and share with family or advisors. Find it under Reports. Available on Family and Team plans.
Investor update analysis got a memory
We rebuilt the investor update feature from scratch. Every update is now read against the company’s full reporting history — so Pinion notices when a metric stops being reported, when a promise from two quarters ago slips, or when a founder re-sends an old update word for word. Each observation comes with a ready-to-send, politely direct follow-up question for the founder. It’s also about twice as fast, and shows you what it’s doing while it works. Available on Family and Team plans.
QSBS tracking
Record your §1202 eligibility determination on any round and Pinion computes the exclusion clock — including the 2025 law change that gave post-July-2025 stock a tiered 50/75/100% schedule. Your portfolio shows exactly when each position is eligible. For SAFEs, the clock starts at conversion… the most common QSBS mistake I used to make. Available on all plans.
Two free calculators
The SAFE Simulator shows what a post-money SAFE actually buys you: your ownership, whether the cap or the discount sets your price, and what an exit returns. The Exit Waterfall Simulator shows who gets paid what once the preference stack does its work. Send them to anyone — they’re free for all, no account needed.
